The old Manta got a mention today, albeit not a complementary one,
in the Business & Finance section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine
Zeitung (FAZ Weekly)
The author of this article, Wolfgang Peters, harks back to the
days of the solid old Opels and their massive potential and popularity,
remembering the Manta being the butt of German jokes (just as the
Capri was over here in the UK) and the demise of the marque due
to cost-cutting (that sounds familiar)
And the thing is that he's absolutely right - and so are the fans
out there, keeping their old Opels on the roads.
